Position Overview

The Procurement Project Management Intern will be responsible for driving assigned projects associated with procurement strategic initiatives and cost savings. This person will provide leadership and direction to the supporting cross-functional teams in achieving project objects based on the Program Management Process (PMP) and Change Management Process (CMP) phase gate processes and deliverables.

The ideal candidate will be independently driven to on-time deliveries, innovation, continuous improvement and prioritize responsiveness and accountability for their and their projects’ objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams in the progress and deliverables of the PMP/CMP project.
  • Track and manage timing, scope, and action plans to close open issues
  • Support the Supply Chain and Program Management teams in preparing leadership reports and reviews
  • Provides timely feedback to management regarding project concerns and elevates issues in timely fashion
  • Ensures that all departments are coordinating effectively to meet the required project timing and product requirements targets.
  • Sets examples for the cross functional team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and work habits.
  • Supports the needs of internal and external customers, including suppliers, as required

Qualifications

  • Has a high degree of self-motivation and reasoning capability and an organized and efficient work style
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time, tasks, and responsibilities while juggling multiple projects
  • Ability to work effectively in team-oriented projects under pressures of time, budget, and other resource constraints
  • Must be self-motivated, well-organized, results orientated, and have good oral and written communication skills

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, organizational leadership or related field
  • Minimum of two years working in a professional environment
  • High level of experience with Microsoft Office suite and popular portals such as Microsoft Teams or Dropbox for sharing documentation
