-Position Overview
The Quotation Engineer is responsible for communicating with customers and salespeople, receiving their requirements and translating these into product configurations and ultimately sales quotes.
Areas of Focus (Teams)
- Receive and review customer and salesperson input in the form of RFQβs and other documented and non-documented processes.
- Using the input, company documents, tools, and other internal resources to develop and configure battery systems that meet the technical customer requirements.
- Coordinate with other team members to develop customer quotations with accurate configurations, lead time and pricing by assessing market conditions and competitive offerings.
- Communicate with customers/salespeople to convert the quotes into actual customer orders. Provide feedback for system optimization.
- Assist in development of tools and information systems to optimize the quotation and order systems.
- Fully knowledgeable in the use of Salesforce opportunity and quotation modules.
- Assist procurement & customer service in creating cabinet PNs and filling out cabinet purchase requisitions
- Work with vendors directly to get costing on procured items such as cabinets, racks, chargers, etc.
- Work with other team members to keep workflow consistent and minimize any individual overload or backlog
- Participate in reviewing and routing quotation requests to correct product segment, incoming requests through C&D quotes request email box.
- Technical information support for internal C&D customers and C&D Sales/Customer Service teams.
- Understand the pricing structures and strategies for the market segments for implementation on quotes and price sheets
- Review the technical information on customer price sheets, assisting Pricing team with completion of price sheets.
- Support other Sales ENG team when they are not available by learning all market segments and nuclear quotation processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelorβs Degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, etc.) or combination of education and relative work experience
- Proficiency in MS Office products
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Aptitude for critical thinking and problem solving
- Self-starter, able to work independently
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- 10% travel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Salesforce
- Lean Six Sigma knowledge
- Knowledge of battery designs
- Knowledge of industry standards
- Pricing or Quotation Experience
