Canadian Solar is seeking a technically minded Sales Manager to foster strong customer relationships and develop business opportunities in Alberta, Canada. You’ll be trusted to uncover new opportunities, drive sales and cement Canadian Solar as a market share leader in the respective region as you sell products from CSI’s component portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Generate, identify, qualify and contact new business leads for the PV module sales group

  • Establish new relationships with solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) and/or solar installers, project developers and some large PV distributors companies that will result in new revenue channels and perpetuate Canadian Solar's reputation as a leading manufacturer

  • Meet with existing and new EPC, distribution and installation partners; develop a close, binding relationship, understand their needs and take steps to ensure the company’s solutions are positioned to solve their growing and changing needs

  • Travel up to 50% throughout the year within your designated sales territory to build strong relationships and have deep-dive technical conversations with our target customer base

  • Use data to gauge your success and track how you're pacing towards meeting and exceeding individual and team KPI's (key performance indicators) related to new business growth, sales volume, market share and more within your designated territories

  • Manage the entire sales cycle (lead generation, technical education and deal closing) of our Module PV Products in the Residential sector

  • Partner closely with Executives in Sales, Operations, Planning and more to establish revenue forecasts, communicate progress towards established goals, and conduct prospect reviews

  • Collect competitive market and territory data from the field, sharing best practices and new business development opportunities with your collective team

  • Participate in trade shows and conferences to represent the company, to entertain clients and prospects and to close new sales opportunities

  • Establish “product bankability” to support clients with project financing and lender acceptance

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 3 years B2B experience selling PV modules to solar installers and developers for commercial and utility projects

  • Or 5 years B2B sales experience selling in balance of systems components (inverters, racking, tracking) of the solar system to installers or developers in commercial projects

  • Willingness and excitement to travel up to 50% throughout the year within your designated sales territory, at your discretion. Frequency determined by strategy, attainment of targets, business needs and the individual needs of customers in each area

  • Preferred to be within 1 hour of a major airport and within the territory

  • Strong presentation and communication skills - In person, over video/phone and email

  • Excellent interpersonal skills: you're a team player, open to trying to new things, receptive to coaching and feedback and can thrive while managing yourself in a remote capacity

  • High proficiency of MS Office applications, Outlook and CRM tools such as Salesforce

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in business management, administration, engineering, supply chain or related a related field is a plus, but not required

  • Bilingual is a plus, but not required
