Your contribution: What you will do

As a Retail Network Support Manager you will be responsible for the development of service concepts at retail store level, enabling business enhancement and customer satisfaction in Spain. In this position you will establish market intelligence insights and coordinate retail trade marketing initiatives in alignment with the national retail sales and national trade marketing manager. This also includes to drive improvements in sales, profitability and operational efficiency at the retail store level by implementing tailored trade marketing campaigns. By using on-the-ground observations and data, you will inform and share business strategies to achieve better results. Additionally, you will focus on improving the skills, motivation and leadership abilities of store managers and staff to foster a high performing team.

The position will be based in our Sales Office in Madrid (Spain).

Your responsibilities: How you will do it

  • identify opportunities for optimization of field services within the retail network and develop programs for new retail concepts, products or digital tools

  • leverage insights from the field to contribute to the strategic planning of retail initiatives

  • conduct regular field visits to assess store preferences, purchase patterns and competitive activity

  • identify trends and gaps in battery sales, service or product assortment to support targeted interventions

  • create and share structured reports on shop-level performance

  • prepare monthly performance reviews highlighting successes, challenges, business intelligence information and recommendations, including store-level KPIs to ensure alignment with overall business objectives

  • coordinate cross-country trade marketing initiatives for retail in Iberia

  • work with store teams to elevate customer service quality and create a consistent Varta brand experience

  • implement feedback mechanisms to capture customer input and ensure continuous improvement

  • support stores in adapting changing customer needs including new Clarios products and services

  • act as trusted partner and advisor to store managers including proactively addressing operational inefficiencies or barriers to performance in partnerships

  • organize workshops and coaching retail staff to enhance product knowledge, sales techniques and customer service skills including identifying training needs

  • provide hands-on support for store operations, merchandising and staff training and share best business practices

  • collaborate to design effective customer in-store promotions and events tailored to store needs, ensuring trade marketing materials are effectively implemented and in line with Varta brand standards

  • monitor effectiveness of trade marketing initiatives

Your knowledge, skills, and abilities: What we look for

  • University degree in business administration, sales or marketing

  • Proven work experience in marketing and sales positions

  • Strong commercial and customer acumen along with analytical, strategic, and business development skills , especially with an emphasis on digitalization.

  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and fostering long-term relationships with key stakeholders

  • Strong self-management skills, with the ability to work independently as well as part of the team

  • Proficient usage in MS Office; SAP desirable

  • Fluent in Spanish and English, French is a plus

  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
