Sales and Use Tax Analyst

The Role: This position focuses on ensuring compliance with sales and use tax regulations, including managing audits and working with internal and external business partners to guide the compliance process. The role involves responding to inquiries, maintaining tax records, and supporting ERP implementation, with a focus on accurate reporting and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for timely and accurate compliance with state and local tax laws while providing excellent internal customer service to our field and corporate operations.
• Review sales and use tax returns prepared by outside service provider.
• Prepare account reconciliations and substantiate account balances and adjust as needed.
• Maintain and update sales tax return worksheets and procedures.
• Respond to sales tax inquiries raised by customers and taxing jurisdictions
• Ability to work with individuals in the Indirect tax group and others in the organizations to gather data needed to support audits
• Ensure indirect tax payment, reporting and compliance obligations are satisfied
• Willingness to develop ideas to improve sales and use tax processes when possible
• Establish methods and procedures to assess, quantify and manage sales and use tax audits
• Participate in tax dispute resolutions
• Coordinate activities with manager and other co-workers

Qualifications:

• College degree in Accounting or related field
• 3 to 5 years multi-state sales and use tax compliance experience required
• Experience with Vertex O Series sales tax software.
• Experience in sales and use taxes including audit defense
