The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $98,785.60 - $123,482

The Senior Cost Controller is a critical role within the OnshoreBusiness focusing on the delivery of substantial project cost controlswithin the offshore project, working with multinational andmultifunctional team ensuring that AVG´s/ Iberdrola position is suitablyprotected at any agreements.

Development and implementation of specifications, processes, globalprocedures and standards of the onshore industry aimed at thestandardization of the criteria that govern budget control, for the USprojects in the onshore Business in Offer, development and execution phase, ensuring the application of lessons learned and thetransfer of knowledge, giving transversal technical support to theProjects in the implementation of the standards described.

The individual must be able to manage and assess accurately an enormousamount of information, identifying opportunities and early warnings on any potential deviation.

The Candidate will be responsible to implement cost controlling tools and provide expert analysisfor a pipeline of projects, during the preFID, Execution and Commissioning phases.

In addition, the Candidate will not only be responsible for managing the Cost Control Procedure butwill also ensure the correct introduction and implementation of the procedure to the entire projectorganizing workshops, training sessions, etc... The candidate will deal with complex contracts.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities for the position include:

  • Implementing & maintaining the onshore business cost management control system/process;

  • Defining standardization tools to ease the cost controls in the projects,

  • Implement and ensure cost control processes to report on estimates, expenditures and costcommitments accurately;

  • Strong liaison with the project cost controllers, to ensure the determination on the committedexpenditure and update/interrogate current budget assumptions;

  • Extract, process, and implement lessons learned

  • Provide with reporting that allows comparison across projects and understanding the differencesbetween them

  • Liaisoning with the ‘Project Manager’, ‘Project Planner’, ‘Risk Manager’ and "Change Manager" inorder to understand project issues and anticipate (and mitigate) their impact on the project'sbudget;

  • The individual must be able to manage and assess accurately an enormous amount ofinformation, identifying opportunities and early warnings on any potential deviation.

  • Support projects ad hoc, when required When referring to a project, the candidate should becapable to:

    • Be the responsible for any budget related topic in the project, and the contact point for 100+colleagues in the peak of the project.

    • Supporting the month-end Value of Work Done (accruals/prepayments) process;

    • Leading the month-end financial reporting process including variance cost analysis reporting;

    • Support the project’s cash flow reporting/forecasting process;

    • This position is responsible for preparing and reviewing project cost reports providing details onprogress, actuals, forecast and explanation of variances, schedules updates and overall projectdashboards and assemble data to consolidate.

    • Compiling on a quarterly basis the project's VoWD plan/forecast and explaining monthly anydeviations from such forecast;

    • Produce reporting in alignment with the project cost control procedure;

    • Interact with Control department to agree on reporting accounts and periodic informationneeded;

    • Providing ad-hoc ‘cost control’ support to the Project

    • Creating and maintaining WBS structures; - Creating and maintaining AO’s;

    • Purchase Requisition /Order Approval (from a cost control perspective, i.e. coding and budget;

    • Commitment Reporting / Closing Down PO’s;

  • Month End Processes:

    • Value of Work Done

      • Manual accruals request;

      • Cost Variance Analysis Report;

    • Project Monthly Report

      • Forecasting Processes:

      • Creating the Forecasts;

      • Change control process;

      • Creating and maintaining budget availability

  • Ad-hoc cash flow reporting;·

  • Supervising the invoicing and payment process.· Supervising the project budget, anticipating any need for changes in the budget.· Leading the process for report and approval of any change in the Budget.

Skills and Requirements

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience +5 years in Cost Management, ideally for onshore wind projects

  • Degree qualified or equivalent qualifications / experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to influence at various levels of an organisation

  • Proven significant experience of IT applications (SAP, Microsoft Office, Document ManagementSystems)

  • Proven significant experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams

  • Accurate, discipline, data analysis expert

  • Previous experience in Procurement processes.

  • Experience in cost management, and project management.

  • Renewable industry experience.

  • Demonstrated experience working in a large multi-faceted utility organization with varying goals, customers and stakeholders

Planning & Organizing:

  • Prepare project cost control procedure· Acting as a central resource coordinating inputs across the project, from every Activity Manager,managing the cost control of the project.

  • Liaisoning with the ‘Project Manager’, ‘Project Planner’, ‘Risk Manager’ and "Change Manager" inorder to understand project issues and anticipate (and mitigate) their impact on the project's budget;

  • Prepare project Baseline reviews

  • Define, implement and resource the appropriate organisation structure to ensure excellent projectcost control

  • Responsible for coordination and management of multi-functional and multi-national internal &external personnel within the Project Cost Controls function.
