THE ROLE: The Sr. Material Handler will be responsible for handling materials required for production, line setup, preparation and crating in the assembly department.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Delivery and setup of materials for production/assembly

  • Understand department workflow, processes, and assembly requirements

  • Operate all types of material handling equipment such as: forklift trucks, hoists, and/or pump trucks as directed

  • Mark materials and/or containers being moved to assist in identification

  • Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organizational needs

  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

  • Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.

  • Uses computer to enter records.

  • Drives material handling equipment to transport stored items.

  • Loads and unloads trailers of palletized and non-palletized product.

  • Utilizes manual and automated material handling equipment.

  • Practices and adheres to appropriate safety and hygiene guidelines/procedures for safe

  • Contributes to division results and performance.

  • Take care of internal and external customer needs and expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED certificate

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, automation, or assembly environment

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience

  • communicate effectively to team members and management staff.

  • Basic Computer skills - Microsoft office or ERP system experience required

DAY IN THE LIFE:

In this role, the working environment is a combination of hot and cold with exposure to elements such as: noise, dust, and brightly lit areas and the physical demands may include but not limited to regularly lifting and/or moving up to 35 pounds, standing for long periods, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

  • Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.

  • Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

  • Must be able to climb and descend stairs.

  • Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an frequent basis.

  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.

  • May work indoors and outdoors as needed.

  • Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees.

  • May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required.

  • May be exposed to varying amounts of dust and dirt.

  • Work surfaces may include concrete.

Salary range:

$46,600.00 - $74,600.00
