ERM is seeking candidates in Spain to join our dynamic Soil & Groundwater remediation team in Madrid as a Senior/Principal Consultant.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Lead the design and implementation of soil and groundwater investigations and remediation projects, ensuring successful restoration and compliance with environmental standards.
- Leverage growing technical and commercial skills to contribute to successful project outcomes.
- Advising clients on environmental matters in contaminated site investigations and remediations, including due diligence assessments.
- Ensure technical quality, budget compliance, and adherence to project time schedules.
- Support in mentoring more junior team members.
Your ideal background:
- Bachelor in geology, hydrogeology, or related discipline; Master Degree will be considered as a plus.
- 10 – 15 years of experience within field investigation, including project management, stakeholders’ engagement and technical report writing/revision.
- Ability to develop feasibility studies for evaluation of alternative remedial actions, and implementation of remediation projects.
- The candidate´s experience in quantitative environmental risk assessment (QRA) methodology and software will be valued.
- Experience dealing with relevant environmental authorities/agencies.
- Excellent understanding of contaminated land assessment regulations and guidance applicable in Spain. Including knowledge of ISO 17020 norm.
- ENAC Inspector as per ISO 17020 norm.
- Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; highly experienced in writing detailed and complex technical reports and proposals.
- Strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols. Basic Training in occupational Health & safety (60 h official training).
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Native-level fluency in Spanish and strong written and spoken communication skills in English.
