Job Description:

In the summer of 2021, Repsol expanded its renewables operations to the US through the acquisition of a large U.S.-based PV solar and battery storage project developer. This transaction was Repsol's first foray into the U.S. renewables market. In 2024, Repsol made another strategic acquisition of ConnectGen from Quantum Capital Group. Repsol Renewables Services North America (“RRSNA”) is targeting to own and operate 3-4 GW of renewable capacity in North America by 2027.

RRSNA is seeking a structured finance intern to join our dynamic team and support the company’s growing utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects across the U.S.

This is a twelve (12) week program starting May 19, 2025 – August 8, 2025, in Downtown Houston.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing investment materials including, but not limited to, project teasers, confidential investment memorandums (“CIM”), and internal presentations.
  • Understand project finance pro formas for various renewable energy assets (solar, solar + storage, wind) as they relate to various financial metrics (e.g. IRR, NPV, payback timeline).
  • Studying the return profiles of renewable assets as they relate to other asset classes outside of renewable energy.
  • Develop understanding of technical assumptions that generate financial model projections
  • Working as part of a team and communicating effectively with colleagues, engineers, and supervisors to achieve project goals, and identifying and addressing issues or challenges that arise during projects and proposing solutions
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the requirement of a work/student visa
  • Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate or graduate Finance degree program
  • Having previous exposure to the energy industry will be positively evaluated
  • Ability to be self-motivated and high attention to details
  • Exemplary standards of integrity, safety, ethics, quality, and productivity
  • Proficiency with MS applications
  • Self-motivated, organized, and hard-working
  • Strong written and technical writing skills
  • Ability to excel in a multidisciplinary team environment as well as independently.
  • Be fluent in oral and written English and have effective communication skills.
