Your Opportunity:

One Seasonal Full-Time Position

The Student, Taxation will support the preparation of tax returns and tax reporting.

You will contribute to our team by:

  • Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate income tax indirect tax returns, and other tax information returns
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly financial statement income tax provisions
  • Perform and maintain an analysis of Canadian and US expenditures to determine the appropriate tax treatment
  • Assist with data gathering, report generation, data formatting and data analysis for tax reporting, tax research, tax audits and related tax authority correspondence, etc. as required.
  • Documentation of the group’s procedures and controls, and assist with process improvements as required
  • Develop relationships with and collaborate with other cross-functional teams such as Finance, Treasury, Business Development, Budget and Forecast, etc.

What you will bring to the role:

Education:

  • Completion of at least one year in a post-secondary Accounting or Finance degree program and still enrolled in the program.

Experience:

  • Analytical skills to identify potential problems related to position responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with others to resolve issues as part of a team.
  • Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Proficiency in data analysis and computational skills using Microsoft Excel and similar tools.
  • Planning and organizational capabilities, along with independent problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in quantitative, qualitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with possible very minimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices

Additional Details:

Hours of Work: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Duration: May 5, 2025 - August 29, 2025

Union: CSU52 – BUCO

Salary Range: $33.62 to $36.67
