Description:
The Supply Quality Engineer is responsible for developing raw material and finished goods testing procedure, including installing and troubleshooting electronic and mechanical equipment, utilizing engineering principles and test technology.
Responsibilities:
Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, including non-conformances, defects, claim, and customer complaints.
Evaluate supplier performance, introduce new supplier/material, review and approve supplier engineering change, do first article inspection.
Lead cross-functional teams to investigate material related quality issues and drive solutions.
Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely resolution of quality issues and prevent recurrence.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster continuous improvement.
Assume responsibility for technical responses to suppliers on quality issues; lead investigations and drive corrective actions.
Liaise with Suppliers during visits, conduct process/system audits.
Track and resolve open issues pertaining to new product launches, develop control documents and other Customer/Supplier required quality documentation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance product quality and reliability
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions related to supplier quality.
Support IQC inspection training, test equipment set up, Control plan and SIP updates
Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct
Support ISO 9001 activities
Adhere to all environmental, health and safety rules and policies.
Conduct other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelorβs Degree (minimum of 4 years) or equivalent years of education; Special consideration given to Quality Accreditationβs (AQC/AIAG) and technical courses completed (Auditor, etc.)
Minimum of three yearsβ experience in a Quality capacity within a manufacturing environment
Demonstrated ability to drive process/product quality control, lean manufacturing.
Good current working knowledge of AIAG standards (PQP, PPAP & PFMEA, Cpk, SPC, 8D )
Strong Knowledge in SAP system or other related software applications
Six sigma an asset
Quality Control background, including problem solving and root cause analysis.
