The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is the nation's primary laboratory for research and development of novel materials and energy technologies. This position will support major programs delivering impact through NREL’s energy security and resilience mission.
NREL is seeking a Technical Project Manager with significant experience working in, or directly with, the national security sector.
The successful applicant is required to hold an existing U.S. federal security clearance at TS or Q level, and the ability and willingness to obtain SCI access. Remote work will not be considered for this position; the role requires regular presence at NREL’s sites in Colorado.
This position will work closely with line managers, business managers, financial analysts, project controllers, business development leads, and technical research staff. The successful candidate will use knowledge and experience to develop and maintain a dynamic, multi-year portfolio funding plan by funding source to ensure the most efficient and effective use of available funding. Close coordination with peer management and program leads is required to ensure alignment with parallel efforts. Develop and maintain project control documents, and coordinate between multiple funding sources and multiple internal performers/task leads. Support development and implementation of technical processes such as change control management. Most importantly, the successful candidate will be driven by a passion to make a positive impact on sustainability, resilience, and security of our nation’s future energy system!
