The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring inventory is processed, organized, and stored. The individual will package, scan, and prepare orders for delivery. The individual needs to be passionate, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions and be a team player. The individual will follow all procedures and policies in the department and company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Material Handling:
Load, unload, move, and store products and materials using manual tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
Organize and stage materials for production or shipment based on schedules and priorities.
Inventory Management:
Assist in inventory counts and cycle checks to ensure accuracy.
Verify material quantities and ensure proper labeling, documentation, and storage.
Ensure material is binned in the correct bins β daily.
Shipping and Receiving:
Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and damage.
Ensure timely processing of shipping and receiving documentation.
Ensure that GRN is done according to order and correct item and qty is processed.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety guidelines and operational procedures to prevent workplace accidents.
Conduct pre-use inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions.
Team Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
Assist in training new team members as needed.
Housekeeping:
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Dispose of waste and recycling materials appropriately.
ADHERING TO SAFETY REGULATIONS
Conduct operations in a safe manner as per safety standards.
Ensure that safety checks on lifting equipment are done before operating.
Report any unsafe working conditions and incidents to your Team Lead.
Always wear the necessary PPE.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Completed Matric / Grade 12.
Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in the warehouse environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate in English effectively orally and in writing.
Relevant License in relevant lifting equipment (Forklift, Reach Truck, Pallet).
Ability to stand on feet for a prolonged amount of time and may need to lift, carry and stretch to perform duties.
Physically ability to lift heavy items.
Able to work overtime, weekends and public holidays on request.
